Like the ocean so wide and powerful with its waves rolling in and crashing against
The rocks
With the same force as my admiration towards the man I want to get to know
I want to know and feel his strength, and feel the power of his touch, crashing against
My soul
I want to feel his passions his desires and the dreams he has
Like the waters that go on
Forever and ever
I want to feel his tender touch caressing every inch of my body like the kiss of the sun over the ocean horizon,
Faithfully each morning
I want him to know that with each and ever word spoken is like a ripple that spreads throughout the deepest waters in My heart
For the day is coming closer and the nights are getting longer in the desire
To be near you
I dream of that moment when the waters of the ocean and the rocks of the cliffs finally meet
In a storm of passion,
His every touch will be like a soft caress to the rocks of the cliffs below
With each encounter will be like the waters stirring under the ocean so deep

Evolusi: Inspirasi bagi Marx dan Engels Filsafat Materialisme, yang lahir di Yunani Kuno, memperoleh kemenangan di abad ke-19. Filsafat kuno ini meraih keberhasilannya melalui dua tokoh filsuf Jerman, Karl Marx dan Friedrich Engels. Marx dan Engels berusaha menjelaskan filsafat materialis, yang bertahan hidup selama berabad-abad, dengan penjelasan baru bernama ?dialektika?. Secara singkat, dialektika beranggapan bahwa segala perubahan yang terjadi di alam semesta adalah akibat dari konflik persaingan dan kepentingan pribadi antar kekuatan yang saling bertentangan. Marx dan Engels menggunakan dialektika untuk menjelaskan keseluruhan sejarah dunia. Analisis sederhana oleh Marx menyatakan bahwa sejarah kemanusiaan didasarkan pada konflik, dan konflik yang ada saat ini adalah antara kaum buruh dan masyarakat kelas atas. Ia meramalkan bahwa kaum buruh pada akhirnya akan menyadari bahwa harapan satu-satunya adalah agar mereka bersatu dan melakukan revolusi. Marx dan Engels memiliki kebencian mendalam terhadap agama. Darwin menyatakan bahwa di alam kehidupan, makhluk hidup berevolusi dan bertahan hidup akibat adanya perjuangan untuk mempertahankan hidup. Apa lagi ini kalau bukan dialektika? Lagi pula, ini adalah dialektika yang muncul untuk mengingkari segala peran agama termasuk adanya penciptaan atau Pencipta. Ini adalah kesempatan emas bagi Marx dan Engels. Engels membaca buku Darwin segera setelah terbit dan menulis kepada Karl Marx: ?(Buku) Darwin, yang kini sedang saya baca, sungguh mengagumkan?. Karl Marx menjawab: ?Ini adalah buku yang berisi dasar berpijak pada sejarah alam bagi pandangan kita.? Engels sangat terpengaruh oleh teori Darwin sehingga, dalam upaya memberi sumbangsih pada teori tersebut, ia menulis artikel berjudul: ?Peran yang Dimainkan Kaum Buruh dalam Peralihan dari Kera ke Manusia?. Dengan segera, Engels mengumpulkan seluruh gagasan evolusionisnya dalam sebuah buku berjudul ?Dialectics of Nature?. Buah Komunisme di Uni Sovyet Pandangan Karl Marx dan Engels tumbuh dan berkembang subur, khususnya setelah kematian mereka. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin adalah yang pertama menerapkan revolusi komunis sebagaimana dicita-citakan Karl Marx. Lenin adalah pemimpin pergerakan komunis Bolshevik di Rusia. Saat itu, rejim Tsar diperintah oleh dinasti Romanov. Kaum Bolshevik di bawah pimpinan Lenin sedang menunggu kesempatan untuk menumbangkan rejim Tsar dengan kekuatan. Kekacauan akibat Perang Dunia Pertama memunculkan peluang yang ditunggu-tunggu kaum Bolshevik. Di bulan Oktober 1917, mereka berhasil mengambil alih kekuasaan. Setelah revolusi, Rusia menjadi ajang perang saudara berdarah antara kaum komunis melawan para pendukung Tsar. Siapapun yang dianggap musuh oleh kaum komunis, termasuk keluarga Romanov, dibunuh secara sadis. Sebagaimana gurunya, yakni Karl Marx dan Engels, Lenin pun seorang evolusionis tulen, dan seringkali menegaskan bahwa teori Darwin adalah dasar berpijak filsafat materialis dialektika yang ia agungkan. Trotsky adalah nama penting kedua dalam revolusi Bolshevik. Ia juga sangat menekankan pentingnya Darwinisme, dan menyatakan dukungannya kepada Darwin dengan mengatakan. Penemuan Darwin adalah kemenangan tertinggi dialektika di seluruh alam kehidupan. Joseph Stalin, sang diktator Partai Komunis paling kejam, menggantikan Lenin pada tahun 1924. Menengok tiga puluh tahun pemerintahan teror Stalin, siapapun hampir pasti akan berkata bahwa kebijakan Stalin secara umum adalah untuk membuktikan kekejaman komunisme. Di antara kebijakan pertamanya adalah menghilangkan kepemilikan tanah secara individu. Ia mengerahkan tentara untuk memaksa petani, yang berjumlah 80% dari populasi, agar menggabungkan tanah mereka menjadi lahan-lahan luas kolektif milik pemerintah. Biji-bijian tanaman pangan dipanen oleh tentara bersenjata. Kelaparan pun melanda, merenggut nyawa pria, wanita dan anak-anak. Tapi Stalin terus saja mengekspor stok makanan daripada memberi makan penduduknya. Menurut perhitungan, sekitar sepuluh juta petani tewas dalam tahun-tahun ini. Enam juta orang mati kelaparan di Ukraina. Dua puluh persen penduduk Kazakhstan lenyap. Di Kaukasus saja, angka kematian mencapai satu juta. Stalin mengirim ribuan para penentang kebijakannya ke kamp kerja paksa di Siberia. Kamp-kamp ini, tempat para tahanan dipekerjakan sampai mati, menjadi kuburan bagi kebanyakan mereka. Di samping itu, puluhan ribu orang dibunuh oleh polisi rahasia Stalin. Di wilayah Krimea dan Turkistan, jutaan orang juga dipaksa pindah ke daerah-daerah terpencil di Uni Soviet. Akibat kebijakan berdarah Stalin, sekitar tiga puluh juta orang mati terbunuh. Menurut para ahli sejarah, Stalin merasakan kenikmatan tersendiri dari kekejaman ini. Di kantornya di Istana Kremlin, ia merasa senang ketika memeriksa daftar orang-orang yang dieksekusi dan dibunuh. Selain karena kondisi kejiwaannya, yang menjadikan Stalin pembunuh masal kejam adalah keyakinan kuatnya pada filsafat materialis. Dan dasar berpijak filsafat ini, dalam pengertian Stalin, adalah teori evolusi Darwin. Ia mengatakan:. Tiga hal yang kita lakukan agar tidak melecehkan akal para pelajar seminari kita. Kita harus mengajarkan mereka usia bumi, asal-usul bumi, dan ajaran-ajaran Darwin. Satu lagi yang menunjukkan keyakinan buta Stalin pada teori evolusi adalah penolakan hukum genetika Mendel oleh sistem pendidikan Soviet. Sejak awal abad ke-20, hukum Mendel telah diterima oleh kalangan ilmuwan ? kecuali di Uni Soviet. Penemuan ini menggugurkan klaim Lamarck, yang sebagiannya juga diyakini Darwin, tentang ?pewarisan sifat-sifat dapatan kepada generasi berikutnya?. Ilmuwan Rusia Lysenko menganggap hal ini sebagai pukulan berat terhadap teori evolusi, dan merumuskan teori alternatif Lamarckis. Stalin kagum atas ide Lysenko dan kemudian mengangkatnya sebagai kepala lembaga-lembaga ilmiah milik pemerintah. Hingga kematian Stalin, ilmu genetika tidak diterima di lembaga-lembaga ilmiah Uni Soviet. Evolusi dan Komunisme Cina Selama pemerintahan totaliter Stalin, rejim komunis lainnya yang berlandaskan Darwinisme didirikan di Cina. Pada tahun 1949, setelah perang saudara yang panjang, kaum komunis memenangkan kekuasaan di bawah pimpinan Mao Tse Tung. Mao mendirikan rezim penindas dan berdarah, sebagaimana sekutunya Stalin yang memberinya banyak dukungan. Hukuman mati yang tak terhitung jumlahnya terjadi di China. Sekitar tiga puluh juta orang mati kelaparan akibat kebijakan kejam Mao. Selama Revolusi Kebudayaan, kelompok pemuda militan yang disebut ?Pasukan Pengawal Merah Mao? menghempaskan negeri ini dalam kekacauan dan ketakutan. Mao menjelaskan landasan filosofis rezimnya dengan menyatakan secara terang-terangan bahwa: ?Sosialisme Cina didirikan di atas Darwin dan teori evolusi?. Ahli sejarah universitas Harvard, James Reeve Pusey juga mengakui pengaruh Darwinis pada Maoisme. Dalam bukunya yang berjudul ?China and Charles Darwin?, Pusey mengatakan: Darwin telah membenarkan perubahan dan revolusi dengan kekerasan. Sungguh, ini adalah satu di antara hal paling berharga yang diberikan Darwin pada China. Dan ini betul-betul sesuai dengan pemikiran Mao Tse Tung. (James Reeve Pusey, China and Charles Darwin, Harvard University Press, Cambridge Massachusetts, 1983, p. 450-51) Komunisme telah menyebabkan teror, perang gerilya dan perang saudara di banyak negara. Di Kamboja, Khmer merah komunis membantai hampir sepertiga dari penduduk negeri. Manusia dibunuh hanya karena mengambil sedikit makanan dari lahan pertanian kolektif atau mengucapkan perkataan yang bertentangan dengan komunisme. Musim panas tahun 1982 menjadi saksi atas kebiadaban luar biasa yang menyebabkan seluruh dunia berteriak dan mengutuknya dengan keras. Tentara Isrel memasuki wilayah Lebanon dalam suatu serbuan mendadak, dan bergerak maju sambil menghancurkan sasaran apa saja yang nampak di hadapan mereka. Pasukan Israel ini mengepung kamp-kamp pengungsi yang dihuni warga Palestina yang telah melarikan diri akibat pengusiran dan pendudukan oleh Israel beberapa tahun sebelumnya. Selama dua hari, tentara Israel ini mengerahkan milisi Kristen Lebanon untuk membantai penduduk sipil tak berdosa tersebut. Dalam beberapa hari saja, ribuan nyawa tak berdosa telah terbantai. Terorisme biadab bangsa Israel ini telah membuat marah seluruh masyarakat dunia. Tapi, yang menarik adalah sejumlah kecaman tersebut justru datang dari kalangan Yahudi, bahkan Yahudi Israel sendiri. Profesor Benjamin Cohen dari Tel Aviv University menulis sebuah pernyataan pada tanggal 6 Juni 1982: Saya menulis kepada anda sambil mendengarkan radio transistor yang baru saja mengumumkan bahwa ?kita? sedang dalam proses ?pencapaian tujuan-tujuan kita? di Lebanon: yakni untuk menciptakan ?kedamaian? bagi penduduk Galilee. Kebohongan ini sungguh membuat saya marah. Sudah jelas bahwa ini adalah peperangan biadab, lebih kejam dari yang pernah ada sebelumnya, tidak ada kaitannya dengan upaya yang sedang dilakukan di London atau keamanan di Galilee?Yahudi, keturunan Ibrahim?. How Is the Virus Transmitted?
HIV lives in blood and other body fluids that contain blood or white blood cells. People have gotten HIV through:
Unprotected sexual intercourse with an HIV-infected person. This includes vaginal or anal intercourse, and oral sex on a man or woman without a condom or other barrier. Intercourse while a woman is having her period, or during outbreaks of genital sores or lesions (caused by herpes and other sexually transmitted diseases) can increase the risk of HIV transmission.
Sharing drug injection equipment (needles and/or works); or being accidentally stuck by needles or sharp objects contaminated with infected blood.
Infected blood used in transfusions, and infected blood products used in the treatment of certain diseases and disorders (like hemophilia), before March, 1985. (Since 1985, federally mandated screening of the blood supply has reduced the risk of transmission through this route to 1 in 255,000.)
Pregnancy, childbirth, and/or breastfeeding, where the virus is passed from mother to child.
Transplanted organs from infected donors. (Routine screening of organ donors also began in 1985.)
HIV and AIDS are not transmitted through casual contact (that is, where no blood or body fluids are involved). HIV is what gets passed from person to person.
People don’t “catch AIDS”; they “become infected with HIV.”

WHAT IS HIV
HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS. This virus may be passed from one person to another when infected blood, semen, or vaginal secretions come in contact with an uninfected person’s broken skin or mucous membranes*. In addition, infected pregnant women can pass HIV to their baby during pregnancy or delivery, as well as through breast-feeding. People with HIV have what is called HIV infection. Some of these people will develop AIDS as a result of their HIV infection.

What Does an “HIV-Positive” Test Result Mean?
A positive test result means your body has been infected by the human immunodeficiency virus-and that you are capable of transmitting it to others. The test did not look for the actual virus itself, but found evidence of it in your blood. There’s no way to tell from this result who gave you the virus, how long you’ve had it, or when it will begin to affect your health. You may see or hear the results called “HIV-positive,” “HIV+,” “HIV-antibody positive,” or “seropositive for HIV.” These terms all mean the same thing. People who have been infected with the human immunodeficiency virus are said to have “HIV disease.” While the virus itself is not a disease, it progressively damages the body’s immune system. This puts you at risk for developing illnesses you wouldn’t otherwise get.
At this time, doctors don’t know of any way to rid the body of HIV. There is no cure. Once you’ve been infected, you have it for life.

How Does HIV Harm the Body?
Viruses tend to be specialists. They zero in on a few particular types of cells in the body and move in. The human immunodeficiency virus is best known for targeting the T cells of the immune system. However, it can also attack cells of the brain, nervous system, digestive system, lymphatic system, and other parts of the body.
The immune system is made up of specialized cells in the bloodstream that fight off invading germs to keep the body healthy. The “T” cells (also referred to as “T4,” “helper-T,” or “CD4″ cells) are the brains of the operation. These white blood cells identify invaders and give orders to soldier-type cells, which then battle various bacteria, viruses, cancers, fungi, and parasites that can make a person sick.
Like all viruses, the HIV is only interested in one thing: reproducing itself. Once it has attacked and moved into a T cell, it converts that cell into a miniature virus factory. Eventually there are so many new viruses in the cell that the T cell explodes, scattering the HIV back into the bloodstream. The virus then moves on to fresh T cells and repeats the process. Over time, the HIV can destroy virtually all of an infected person’s T cells in this manner.

Then What Happens?
With fewer and fewer “leaders” to rely on for warnings, the “soldier” cells become powerless. They can no longer recognize and fight off common organisms that would not present a problem to a healthy immune system. These organisms may be lying dormant in the body already, or may enter from outside. The immune system’s weakness gives them the opportunity to wake up, multiply, and cause illness. Thus, we call these illnesses “opportunistic infections.” People with fully functioning immune systems are almost never troubled by these particular infections-but those with damaged immune systems are highly vulnerable to them.

So What’s the Connection Between HIV and AIDS?
When a person with an HIV-weakened immune system comes down with one or more of these rare opportunistic infections, or has a T cell count below 200 or 14%, that person may be diagnosed by a doctor as having AIDS. “AIDS” stands for “Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.” The “syndrome” part means that AIDS is not a single disease but a collection of diseases. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has put together a list of 26 “AIDS-defining illnesses” in adults. Diagnosis of AIDS in children involves a list of slightly different ailments.
AIDS can be thought of as the most severe form of HIV disease. All but a handful of medical experts now believe that HIV is the primary agent that leads to the development of AIDS.

HIV Antibody Testing Options
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that between 850,000 and 900,000 Americans are infected with HIV.

Testing Programs for HIV:

Confidential HIV Testing
It means you give your name when getting tested. Only medical personnel or state health departments have access to the test results. You must provide written permission before this information can be revealed to others.
Anonymous HIV testing
It means that no name is given to the testing center and only you are aware of the results. Anonymous testing is available in 39 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Test results are given by randomly assigned numbers at the time of testing.
Types of HIV Antibody Tests
There are several HIV antibody tests being used today. All testing options are not available in all areas. Contact your local health department for the tests available in your area.
Standard blood test: This was the first HIV antibody test developed and made available, and is the most widely used. With this test, an initial assay is used (the ELISA), and confirmed using a more specific test (the Western Blot).
Oral mucosal transudate test: This test, an alternative to the standard blood test, uses a specially treated pad placed in a person’s mouth, and gently rubbed between the lower cheek and gum. The pad collects an oral fluid called oral mucosal transudate (OMT). This fluid contains HIV antibodies in an HIV- infected person. This test does not test for HIV in saliva.
Urine HIV antibody test: The urine HIV-1 testing method is a painless, non-evasive option for getting an HIV antibody test. This test uses the urine EIA (ELISA) and urine Western Blot technique to detect HIV antibodies, and is FDA – licensed as an alternative to the blood test system. This test eliminates accidental needle sticks and exposure related dangers, protecting the patient and healthcare worker.
Rapid HIV antibody tests: Where the standard HIV antibody testing procedure requires up to two weeks for results, the rapid test gives results in 5-60 minutes. Currently approved rapid HIV tests only test with blood. Other rapid HIV testing methods are in development. To perform the test, a fingerstick sample of blood is collected from an individual and transferred to a vial where it is mixed with a developing solution.The test device, which resembles a dipstick, is then inserted into the vial. In as little as 20 minutes, the test device will indicate if HIV–1 antibodies are present in the solution. Although the results of rapid screenings will be reported in point–of–care settings, as with all screening tests for HIV, if the OraQuick test gives a reactive test result, that result must be confirmed with an additional specific test.The OraQuick test has not been approved to screen blood donors.
